FIRST TRAINING ON EFFECTIVE TEACHING

“Teachers like leaves, everywhere abound. Effective teachers, like fruits, are rarely found.”” That's one of the very important and striking quote of that seminar. Being an effective teacher is not just teaching at all. We must be passionate with our calling and touch the lives of our learners. She also talked about classroom management As we all know, classroom management is the process by which teachers and schools create and maintain appropriate behavior of students in classroom settings. And to be an effective teacher we must possess 8 classroom management rules. Prepare the necessary instructional materials before the class starts. Organize students into working groups. Assigns definite working areas for student activity. Make sure students observe safety rules and procedures. Provides appropriate feedback on students’ behavior. Starts and finishes the lesson within allotted time. Creates a relaxed but orderly atmosphere that is conducive to learning. Maintains a reasonable amount of discipline In the end of her talk, she conclude the seminar with "what is good teaching?" Begins long before the class starts. It is more than the first day impressions. Results in significant student learning. Seeks input from students and peers. We had a great day. We filled our minds with knowledge and excitement for 2022 class.
WHO IS AFTERSCHOOL?
Last December 21, 2022 at exactly 10am in the morning, we had our very first training on "Effective Teaching" hosted by our very own CEO and Founder of Afterschool Training and Development Center.
Afterschool Training and Development Services or what we call "AFTERSCHOOL" established last June 14, 2021. It was a built in during the pandemic. “Being in the comfort zone is not comfortable at all. So take the risks and find your happiness on it.” We got scared when we had our soft opening. Having a start up business is very risky. We all know that! But, we tried. We can't say that we're on the peak of success but what can we say is that we are growing by our experiences. We started with academic tutorial. One on one is the best option since we can't have a huge number of students because of the IATF rules. Then, we came with a solution to open playgroup class that composed of 3 students per class. We thought that no one will enroll to our center because we have a lot of competitors out there. Now, all we can say that patience is really a virtue. It takes time to be known by everyone. Word-of-mouth marketing provides free publicity for our business. And thanks to all the teachers we have now. They make quality education for our learners. And also to parents who always supports us. We can't make this without you!
